Kia ora tamarik and welcome to my think-board. Sadly this is my last Think-board I'll be doing this year. But the good news is that I've manage to complete it and publish it on my blog . So far I've really enjoyed working on think-boards and posting them up on my blog. I hope that next year, maths will be very challenging!!!.

College Inspirational talk

College is a hard thing to get over especially when your going there next year. Our good dear friend Andrew Paterson came to our school to talk about college. When you think about it college is 10 times harder then primary and Intermediate. One if the most important things in college is having a good habit. There are loads of things you could do to have a good habit like sleeping early , going to sleep in the right time , Brushing your teeth and most important of all studying for exams.

Writing Test 05/11/2015

“ Beep beep!!” As we arrive at Dunkirk Memorial field to have our touch tournament, we 

quickly took our gear down to the field .Struggling to Set up the gazebo my friends Taniela and Paula ran down to help me lift the edges I felt really weak. We had to get everything sorted because our first game was in 5 minutes .

Once we were done helping Miss Va’afusuaga we immediately jogged to our field. I gazed at the team we were challenging “ wow!”. The game is about to start and Our coach Tyson puts us into position. Waiting for the ref to blow the whistle suddenly I got all nervous so I bit my lip.

It was our ball and we were making a lot of meters on the winger side. “ Touch 3 “ as the ref calls, we started passing the ball around to make the other team tired. “ Touch 4 “ I quickly picked up the ball and ran straight to the winger . Right in that moment in the corner of my eye I saw TeMauri right beside me so I drawed and passed to him then he passed it to Asena then she went for a crazy dive to score the first try !.

“ I’ll mark him “ Our team was on defence. They were really fast and tall but that didn’t really matter . 2 more minutes left and we were on there five meter line It’s was really frustrating. The game had ended and the score was 3 - 0 , we finally had our first win .

I knew this tournament was gonna be a challenge so I trained hard nervously waiting for our next game. “ Your game is in 10 minutes “ Shouted Tyson. “ Dammmn!!”

Orpeus Lyrical game

Last Monday we've been learning about figurative language. Our writing teacher Miss Moala showed us a game where we could learn and understand what it means. Before we had our chance to play the game Miss Moala demonstrated on how to play. This game helped me understand my figurative language which were Hyperbole, Metaphor, Personification, and Simile.

Samsung Samsonite Smart Suitcase

The thing I found most interesting was the Samsung Samsonite Smart suit . [ WHY ] because the smart suitcase could be useful during your life cause a lot of luggage have been stolen in the past few weeks. I would like to have a smart suitcase because if I go to a different country or if I move out the smart suitcase would come in handy. The smart suitcase is like a future suitcase.    

Managing level

My current managing level is green because all my reading assignment I've finished 50% of my work but I'm not able to manage myself to finish the rest . My goal is to reach blue . In order for me to move up a level I need to find a spot where I don't get distracted my friends. I need to focus and work harder and choose the right friends to work with so I could move up a level.

What does Technology mean ?

What Technology Means To Me?

When I walk around my house and I wondered what technology was. So the next day I went to school I asked my teacher, what is technology, and she said. Well technology is what you use to cook your food with like a stove or the oven.

So I named some technology we used at my house like Television, lights,Remote control,Computer,Projector, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Cars, And a wheel.

In WW1 They used guns, big ships and airplanes that shoot booms out of the sky. In Gallipoli Anzacs fought for our country, If you're wondering what Anzac means it means. It means Australia New Zealand Army Corps. Back In the 70s they did not use technology. In our days now were use technology to help make our lives easier.

Technology can be lots of things like toys that can be controlled to a wheels or button so they come in all shapes and sizes. Technology has advanced rapidly through the twentieth century.

I chose this mascot because he is special . His name is Caeser , an anzac dog . His job is to sniff if there are any explosives and to track all the wounded soldiers that have fallen . Caesers has soft feelings and he also cares for a lot of soldiers back in World War 1

Nesian Fusion

We learnt how to spin the afa sticks which was difficult. Our teachers were professional they were Lee , Deacon and MaoriKava and there Teacher was Mr.Noyce, they were all from Howick collage . During our assembly Nesion fusion performed for us to represent there culture so we could understand there culture. After Miss M and her group finished there performance Mr. Noyce jumped in and span the afa with the fire. I was SURPRISED that he didn't drop it.

This is Miss M holding the oil. When she puts the oil on her face she has to take the tangaroa sculpture to the ruapotaka marae.

Responsibility is my value because at Pt England school we have a lot of people who have a lot of Responsibility looking after sports , young siblings , and friends. My Responsibility is to take care of my younger siblings that why Responsibility is my important value.

Anzac Biscuit

Today my zeal zone group was the cooking group which is with Mrs Tele'a. We got into 5 groups and decided to make ANZAC biscuit. The ingredients is down below.

It was fun making anzac biscuits, we got to do a lot of exiting things. 

 

Anzac ingredients:

1 cup flour
1 cup caster sugar
1 cup desiccated coconut
1 cups rolled oats
1 half of malted butter
2 tbsp golden syrup
1 tsp baking soda

1 table spoon vanilla essence   3 table spoon boiling water

Polyfest Choo-hoo-hoo

Kia Ora, talofa lava, malo e lelei, faakalofa lahi atu, kia orana, bula vinaka, namaste and greetings!!  It’s Pasifika week in Aotearoa, this means it’s a week long celebration of all things Pacific.  This includes the birthday dance we had with Mrs Tele’a!  Part of the celebration is the Polyfest!  This Thursday we are planning to travel to Manukau to take part in some workshops and then visit stages.  The two stages we will be visiting will be the Maori and Diversity stages.  Did you know that this event - the Polyfest celebrates 40 years since it’s beginning?  Awesome isn’t it!..

Pacifica whanau should participate to show what their culture is made of. But most pacifica join the polyfest just to represent their culture.

In order for the pacifica to do well in the dance during the polyfest they have to....

-Practice , Practice , Practice

-Train hard

-Listen to the leader

-Be on time

-Work hard

-Confidence

All culture come together and promote. Then they show what their culture is made of or what their culture means.

I can’t wait to travel to the polyfest on thursday because I want to see professionals do their dance and I want to meet all the culture that participate in the polyfest. I’m looking forward to visiting polyfest on thursday.

The Surprise Samoan dance

Working on my netbook on one rainy day it was Miss Tele’a birthday. Everything was silent , and everyone stayed quiet and finished off their work. Until I saw Hannah who was playing on Miss Tele’a laptop I thought she was going to set up P.E.N.N, then apparently loud samoan music blasted into the street. Miss Tele’a and seven other boys started dancing with her. After a while Miss Peato was dancing with Miss Tele’a Group . It was fun watching Miss Tele’a having fun on her Birthday.

My Uncle Birthday

“AAAHHHHHHH!!! I’m tired ” when I jumped out of bed I trip over and hit my head on the ground “ Mann”. I checked the calendar to see what day it was and apparently it was my uncle birthday. My family all got dressed to go to the beach. When we drove to Mission Bay I notice that the weather wasn’t going to be fine . When I hopped out of the car I glanced at the sky and the weather started to get worst.

As we reached mission bay I ran to my uncle with enthusiasm “Happy birthday !! “. All my other aunties and other uncles were invited.The sun started to go down and the water started rise. I walked out of the toilet “ YES!” as I quickly got changed . I jumped into the sea and I saw my brothers wrestling with each other. I joined my brother and started to splash and Kick, My parents and my Uncle jumped in the water and joined us well we were swimming.

When it was time to go,I went to the changing room and got rid off my wet cloth. My mum hurried me to change my cloth so we could head home. During this whole block it was fun and so I will give it a 10 out of 10.
