College Inspirational talk

College is a hard thing to get over especially when your going there next year. Our good dear friend Andrew Paterson came to our school to talk about college. When you think about it college is 10 times harder then primary and Intermediate. One if the most important things in college is having a good habit. There are loads of things you could do to have a good habit like sleeping early , going to sleep in the right time , Brushing your teeth and most important of all studying for exams.

Managing time

 

I still remain in the same level. In order for me to get to the next level I need to work EXTRA hard when I'm away competing in other different sports.

Working on my netbook on one rainy day it was Miss Tele’a birthday. Everything was silent , and everyone stayed quiet and finished off their work. Until I saw Hannah who was playing on Miss Tele’a laptop I thought she was going to set up P.E.N.N, then apparently loud samoan music blasted into the street. Miss Tele’a and seven other boys started dancing with her. After a while Miss Peato was dancing with Miss Tele’a Group . It was fun watching Miss Tele’a having fun on her Birthday.

My Uncle Birthday

“AAAHHHHHHH!!! I’m tired ” when I jumped out of bed I trip over and hit my head on the ground “ Mann”. I checked the calendar to see what day it was and apparently it was my uncle birthday. My family all got dressed to go to the beach. When we drove to Mission Bay I notice that the weather wasn’t going to be fine . When I hopped out of the car I glanced at the sky and the weather started to get worst.

As we reached mission bay I ran to my uncle with enthusiasm “Happy birthday !! “. All my other aunties and other uncles were invited.The sun started to go down and the water started rise. I walked out of the toilet “ YES!” as I quickly got changed . I jumped into the sea and I saw my brothers wrestling with each other. I joined my brother and started to splash and Kick, My parents and my Uncle jumped in the water and joined us well we were swimming.

When it was time to go,I went to the changing room and got rid off my wet cloth. My mum hurried me to change my cloth so we could head home. During this whole block it was fun and so I will give it a 10 out of 10.

Whanau Tangle pattern writing

Class 1 and Class 5 decided to make a very interesting tangle pattern. We all worked on it on the first day of school.  Miss paget went on this person blog and found this tangle pattern and asked the owner if she could use it and he said yes. Our goal is to make the same exact tangle pattern and send it back to the person who actually made this tangle pattern and post it in his blog.

Ms Paget handed everyone a piece of paper. We grabbed the piece of paper that said G because it was small and easy to get finished. Sione made a random pattern because he was rushing so he could get on to his next task. Leka made a very awesome pattern its got very cool diamonds things in the middle.

You can’t see where the tangle pattern starts and ends. It goes under and over all the patterns. Sione’s pattern is not up the WHANAU PANUBA TANGLE wall because he didn't put enough effort to his tangle piece. Leka’s TANGLE piece is up on the wall with the others cause he put a lot of effort and hard work to his piece.

  

Cross country

Cross country was confirmed on Thursday, and everyone got into their house colors. Feeling nervous I was still thinking of me finishing last while everyone looking at me. Mr Burt called us to the starting line. I felt energetic when I was standing at the start line.

Mr Burt clapped the red wooden block to start the race. I didn't hear Mr Burt clap the wooden block so I didn't start running until I saw the boys in front of me’ OH NO’’ then I took off as fast as I could to catch up to my friends.

I ran 1 long lap around Pt England without walking .On the second lap I started walking for a little while until I catch my breath then I continued. When I saw the finish line I sprinted the whole way. I felt energetic as I crossed the finished line.

When I ran over the finish I was happy the run was over ‘’ finally ‘’. After the run I went for a long drink of water. Overall I thought cross country was fun, But also challenging.

Drugs

The past 2 weeks we have been going to harold learning about drugs and how drugs can affect you.

All around the world people have been taking drugs and losing their life , some drugs are illegal some are not. All medicines are drugs but not all drugs are medicines people take drugs because they're sick or in pain. Some just take drugs for no reasons . There are very common drugs around the world like marijuana , weed , pills , steroids all kind of drugs. Drugs can altered the way your brain function.

Choosing marijuana is a bad choice and it is also going to mess with your brain. Drugs can seriously damage your brain and it can also kill you.   

Mascot

My mascot is {Rocket Kiwi}

The next Commonwealth games is going to be played in New Zealand so our job is to create our own mascot. As you can see my mascot has already been created.

The reason I designed a Kiwi is because it represents new zealand. I chose the name Rocket Kiwi because he has rockets on his shoes. He has these rockets to fly around the crowds at the Commonwealth games. He has the New Zealand map on his shirt to show that he is the New Zealand Commonwealth games mascot. He is also holding an L&P bottle. I chose an L&P bottle because it was invented in New Zealand.  I made him hold an L&P bottle so when he tired he would drink L&P. Rocket Kiwi’s job is to encourage all athletes and check on the crowds at the Commonwealth games.

Glenn Snyders

Glenn Snyders is a amazing swimmer that represent new zealand. In 2004 Glenn placed 1st place at youth commonwealth games. He is looking forward to coming 1st place in 2014 commonwealth game

Tech @ tamiki college

Some activities from tech could be quite dangerous but still is fun. There 3 groups Food , Hard materials and Graphics . The group I was invited to was hard materials I thought this will be  interesting. Usually in hard materials all you do is carve wood but this time we got to do something with metal.

Mr grundy introduce himself to us ‘’ Hello year 7 and 8 and welcome to hard materials’’. Mr grundy show some pictures of some other people who made some metal objects. First thing we done was plan the item that we were going to design. I was planing on making a cross for my mother.  Mr grundy started to demonstrate how to cut it and carve it. I was going to make a batman logo but it was too late.........

Leka swimming writing

All around the world it is important to be safe in the water Kids have struggled and panic. It is really important to stay around adults if you do not know how to swim. Make sure you get an instructor to teach you the things you need to do well you're in the water.

In 2008 there were 97 people that drowned in new zealand that why it is important to get an instructor and learn to be safe underwater. Make sure every time ask yourself am ‘’I being safe’’ ‘’am I being safe’’.

‘’When are we on the stage I’m hot’’?., Preparing for action I was waiting for Gloria to announce the tongan boys ‘’ lets give it up for the tongan boys’’., I picked up my stick my hart was pounding I was scared as I walked up the stage. I smelt my armpits ‘DAAAMM!! I HAVE BO’, It was hard  for me to do my dance cause I couldn’t believe the smell I had .but I still gave it 100%. Sione gave me playboy spay and now I’m ready for tomorrow night.

Until finally the night has come, It six 0’clock and we have to get moving to our changing room. As I walked in I was frightened every single person was ready I was nearly the only one who wasn’t change. After I got change we walked to the field to sit on the carpet it was breezy and cold everyone was screaming , shouting and cheering for their child. Waiting for my group to perform it was awesome cause all of the groups looked very cool in there costumes well their performed

‘’Lets give it up for the tongan boy’’ AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH the crowd goes wild and my heart beats fast. Walking up the stage I felt like I was going to faint it was crazy loud. It was so loud I couldn’t even hear my self, as the leader does the first thing ‘’ READY FOR ACTION’’ the leader said in tongan ‘’YES’’ . I had butterflies in the stomach, ‘’TOONNGGAAA’’’ as our group finishes.

I think I just learnt to be confident

A story of a kid who found is fortune

Once upon a time there was a really suspicious talented kid. He lived in the woods on his own day after day managing his own self assessment. He was so talented he could make an enorrrmous wooden house. He was lonely he got bored building dirty filthy wooden houses.

He felt really depressed and sad. Until he found a girl who had no place to stay at ,so the kid made the best wooden house and welcomed the girl, they got older older and older. Then they got married
